crank arm replacement

this saturday, during my morning ride, my left pedal came off. Not being able to insert it anymore and thinking that it was broken, I tried to insert a new pedal, but mistakenly I put a right pedal. As a result I have damaged the crank arm and now I need a new left crank. Where can I buy a new one? Is it possible to buy only the left crank arm? Are there any special instructions for replacement?
