Matthew what a truly excellent video. Ive also posted this comment on YouTube. I am contemplating a purchase. Ive never ridden a half bike before but I am drawn to it as a great alternative to road riding which I do a couple of times a week. I live in flat Cambridgeshire so the Netherlands flat option sounds good ? Is your recommendation to stump up the cash for a HalfBike 3 or would you suggest I pick up a half bike 2 on ebay for £250 ish and upgrade to a 3 if I get plenty of use out of the 2 ? Your opinion would be appreciated. Thanks for the video again.

Hi @Tom, The Halfbike definitely feels better when riding flats, so I think you'll have a great time either way. Here you can see a side by side comparison of the two models, maybe that can help our your decision > halfbikes.com/compare Of course between the two models I'd always recommend the Halfbike 3 as it's definitely better in every way. When designing the HB3 we compressed all the feedback we already had from the HB2 and thus the added gears, the much improved braking system, the quick release system and improved proportions. All of this adds up to an overall smoother ride that augments everything that makes the Halfbike a fun, new and exciting experience.

Thanks Bob thats great info. I think I’m going to push the boat out and go for the 3 and spec it for flat riding which in the main is what I will be doing. I think there is enough of a difference to make it worth the extra cost and I don’t want to have buyers remorse going for the 2 etc etc. Thanks for your considered advice.

@Tighkey F. The main differences between HB 2 and HB 3 are the following for me. The HB 3 is like a sports car while the HB 2 is like a cruiser. You can do the same with both, the HB 3 is reacting faster on the intended and unintended things you or the street is doing. Riding with both is fun and I even don't know which is easier or harder to learn or ride.

Thanks for this. Good job Ive got a HB 3. Box is open thats as far as I have got ! I probably have not got the will power to wait until Christmas to assemble it. I think I will crack on this weekend and put it together ready for it to be put away until Christmas. Im going to study the instructions and the assembly video tonight.
