My Halfbike3 journal: 20240607: Obtain the vehicle and assemble it simply by myself. The price is US$899, purchased online from the Bulgarian halfbike official website. 20240608: The first trial ride was really difficult! It is more strenuous than riding a bicycle or a scooter, and my limbs are weak and trembling after the trial ride. Today's achievement is that I can go straight for about 200 meters, but I still can't turn. I stumbled and stumbled. Finally, I felt exhausted. I folded the halfbike3 and dragged it home. My limbs were weak. I fell asleep soon after sitting at home. Then I tried riding it six more times. 20240706: Last test ride, distance 11.5 kilometers. I still couldn't get used to the front wheel braking, so I jumped out of the halfbike3 several times. I was exhausted, my palms cramped, and I drank 5000CC of water. 20240803: First official ride. The riverside bicycle path is about 15.6 kilometers, starting between Huazhong Bridge and Yongfu Bridge, back and forth the same way. No track map was recorded. Rest time takes up most of the time, each rest lasts about 40 to 60 minutes, and the speed is about 7 kilometers per hour. I had cramps in my left thigh and my fingers, so I had to rest every other day. Other riding records are as follows: 20240811:11.2km 20240817:17.9km 20240824:9.2km 20240825:13.4km 20240831:9.6km 20240901:8.6km 20240825: The first time I rode halfbike3 and fell to the ground and rushed into the flower garden. 20240904: Currently, when riding halfbike3, I only dare to ride in dedicated bicycle lanes. I own 2 bikes and ride them for 7 years. 6 scooters, used for 10 years and this halfbike3 that I ride for only few months. feedback: Disadvantages: The frame is too soft. When starting or riding uphill, it feels inadequate. Part of the force exerted by the foot is absorbed and offset by the frame. Without rear wheel braking, it is impossible to slow down and coast on downhill sections. The front wheel brake should be used to stop the halfbike3. If it is used to slow down, I am worried that the halfbike3 will roll over. However, the rear wheel is too light, so it may not be effective when used to slow down and will only wear the tires. Advantages: No pain in the butt. You don't have to ride too far to get enough exercise in a shorter period of time.

The Halfbike website says that there's a learning curve. No lie detected! It took me a good 20 minutes to be up and able to go relatively straight without having to jump off almost immediately. It's a new way of moving, and the body needs time to adjust! After about 40 minutes total (not the same day -- it's tiring!), I was able to make wide turns pretty reliably. (The key is looking where you want to go. Somehow, your body knows what to do to make it happen. You definitely do NOT want to look down.) I'm not sure I'll ever be comfortable enough to ride my Halfbike around a lot of people or anywhere I might have to make a tight turn, but I like to take it up to the top of a parking garage (empty on weekends) and cruise around there. It's an incredible workout. After 20 minutes, I'm sweaty and breathing hard. There's really no rest if you're moving, because you obviously cannot sit down, and if you stop pedaling, you lose speed, and then you get less stable. So you can rest for a few seconds at a time, but that's it unless you stop. Perfect! It's also easy on the body. I have problematic feet and hips, and there's no strain on them at all. Zero impact, and fun! My 11-year-old nephew was visiting me this past weekend and was drawn to the Halfbike as soon as he saw it. He asked immediately if he could try it. I was a little reluctant, because I know from experience that it's not easy at first, and I was worried he'd hurt himself or get frustrated by the learning curve. LOL, he was up and going steadily in about 2 minutes. After 4 minutes, he was turning comfortably. He LOVED it and wants one now. If you Halfbike folks aren't marketing to kids, you should! His mom loved that my nephew couldn't go as fast on the Halfbike as he could on a regular bike, so she thinks it'll be a safer ride for him (not to mention it's easier to jump off the Halfbike than a regular bike). I don't have any pictures of me on it, but here's one of my nephew. It's too bad I cannot share video, because you would be able to see that he's super-comfortable on it!
